| How long have you been at KCUV: |
Almost a year |
| What was your first job in radio: |
My first job in radio was with Jones Radio Networks for their Oldies format. I've always had radio/broadcasting coursing through my veins, so when I landed my first job in radio it was like a dream come true. I was hooked! Broadcasting is that way. Once you get a taste of it, you never want to quit. I'm sure that I will stay in some aspect of broadcasting until I cash in my chips! |
| What does “Rock Without Rules” mean to you: |
Music and the arts are so broad. There ARE no rules. The possibilities of any genre are endless. Rock has come a long way from the very roots of its early days. From the moment that Rock was born it has known no boundaries. That's the way it should be - no rules, no boundaries. KCUV is a unique kind of radio. It is not held down like many of today's radio companies do with their stations. The conglomerates of radio don't give Rock, or any genre for that matter, the full respect for the art form that music should be. That is why I am so very proud to be a part of this station; its people and its music! |
| Favorite band/artist: |
Oh, man.... that is a question that has so many answers! I would say that my favorites change constantly. I believe it was Dick Clark that once said "Music is the soundtrack of our lives" I'll never forget that quote. It is so very true - each day we are in a different mode; with that mode comes a song that fits that very moment in our life. My favs range from Count Basie, Billie Holiday, Elvis, The Beatles all the way up to The Doors, Johnny Cash, newer artists like Spoon, Tori Amos.... I can go on forever! |
| Most memorable concert experience: |
Concert-goers have a very unique and wonderful experience. I have seen some awesome concerts! I would have to say that all of my favorites have been at the one and only Red Rocks Amphitheater. There's just something absolutely extraordinary about that place. It has an energy of its own, and when it is filled with music, add the human energy - it is simply MAGIC. As a Colorado native I love to brag about Red Rocks, as I'm sure many other's do as well. |
| Favorite movie: |
Hitchcock movies. A lot of classics in my movie library. I also like a lot of recent independent films, as well. |
| Who makes you laugh: |
Myself! I'm a goof! I think it is important not to take yourself too seriously in life. It's very healthy to laugh at ourselves, it keeps us sane, even though it seems like we're absolutely nuts when we do it. |
| Favorite food: |
Italian |
| Favorite thing to do in Denver: |
I LOVE Denver, the mountains; especially the city. I love living in the city, experiencing as much of its unique culture and people as I can. I have lived in places like Hawaii and San Francisco, many places in our country are older than Denver and have a much longer history, but Denver is building on a very young history right now. I have seen so much growth here in such a short time. Culture, people, there are so many wonderful possibilities for Denver and our people. It's amazing to me to be a part of it. |
| What do you enjoying doing in your free time: |
I'm a pretty easy going, chill guy when it comes to free time. I love spending time with my family, friends and my two wonderful terriers, Deano and Maggie ! |
