Lionel Young Band: Friday, 7/18/08 (Blues, Variety)
Named “Best Blues Band” by Westword on three different occasions, The Lionel Young Band was formed to provide a medium for the union of classical precision and the passion of blues.  The band plays an eclectic mixture including blues, R&B, salsa, jazz, fusion, rock, bluegrass and reggae and has performed across the country. Violinist Lionel Young has won numerous awards throughout his music career, which began at age six. Before long he became concert master at Carnegie-Mellon University and The Westmorland Symphony in Pittsburgh. Among others he's played in concerts with are Count Basie, Stevie Wonder, Jimmy Paige/Robert Plant, Doc Severenson, Linda Ronstadt, Living Color, Woodie Herman and Johnny Long.

Lionel Young
